Maaike Kramer
Guest artist

In her works, Maaike Kramer explores the physical and mental constructions that shape our environment, both visible structures and invisible social norms and expectations. Her process often begins with pencil sketches that form the basis for sculptures; using materials such as concrete and ceramics, she creates a tension between the imaginary and the physical.

Kramer’s works invite the viewer to not only look at the form, but to discover the underlying stories and processes by actively observing and approaching the works from different perspectives.
