Joran van Soest (b. 1994) is a Dutch artist who graduated as a visual artist from the AKV St. Joost art academy in ‘s-Hertogenbosch in 2018. His research focuses on his relationship with his environment. This includes a journey from innocent origins to complex maturity, from physical closeness to profound contemplation and from submission to overwhelming dominance. Between these extremes, Joran shapes his own definition of “intersubjective space.

His work consists of several layers of (un)intended confrontations with physicality and contains a powerful visual language that demands and holds the viewer’s attention.
